Comments  
  1 The name is weathered, but can be reconstructed on the basis of the date and its dynastic association as known from the Tablet of the Cross.
  2 The name is implied, but not recorded, in this passage.
  3 There are major problems with the resolution of this date. The inscription ends abruptly, and the distance number that expressly links the birth of Kan B'alam I to (his?) accession does not accord with his birth and death dates as known from other texts.
  4 See Schele and Mathews 1998:99-100, where we argue this is a representation of Kan B'alam I.
